NABSQNO 12S 505598 – 4129078

A boat is now required to reach this arch as it is located in Davis Gulch on the Escalante arm of Lake Powell. Although La Gorce Arch has been known as Moqui Window, after the ancient race of Indians that inhabited the area, and has also been named after Everett Ruess, the young man who travelled the south west in the 1920s and 30s and who disappeared so mysteriously, it is named after Dr John Oliver La Gorce the editor of National Geographic Magazine.

The arch has a span of 102 ft and a height of 70 ft.
