Elephant Rock Arch

The Ponta da Piedad headland is one of the most spectacular and popular areas in the Algarve with its bizarre rock formations and fascinating grottos. Here there are over 60 natural arches many of which can be viewed from the cliff top. Others can only be seen at low tide by climbing down to the beaches and coves.

Elephant Rock Arch is one of the arches that can be seen from the small landing stage below the Ponta da Piedad Overlook. Here fishermen offer boat trips that take you though the arches.

The arch has a span of about 13 ft.
