Arches UK - a collection of Nature’s arches and bridges
Arco Azzurro
NABSQNO 33S 369389 – 4219999
Palermo Region, Sicily. To the east of Palermo, the islands capital, lies Mongerbino Peninsula and the Blue Arch. For some years it has not been possible to visit the arch as it was considered dangerous. However, it is has now been developed and is open at certain times. A small fee is payable (Euros 5 in 2020). There is now a terrace where parties can be held. Photographs suggest that in the past people have proposed marriage whilst standing on the bridge, which juts out over the Tyrrhenian Sea, but this not now possible.
The arch has a span of about 25 ft and a height of about 30 ft.
