The Raudanes Peninsula – Red or Reddish Point – is located about 20 miles south of the town of Raufarhofn. Raufarhofn is only about 5 miles from Iceland’s most northerly point which itself is only a couple of miles south of the Arctic Circle. A four mile hiking trail around the peninsula leads to bizarre rock formations, caves and secluded beaches.

There are 6 arches situated along its east coast, the first five of which are within ½ mile of each other. This one is the fifth arch and was formed when the roof of a sea cave collapsed.

It has a span of about 65 ft.
