Raufarhofn Peninsula Arch 3

NABSQNO 28W 458268 – 7370786

Raufarhofn is Iceland’s most northerly town and used to be one of the country’s largest harbours exporting fish, mainly herring. It is about 5 miles from the most northerly point of mainland Iceland, Hraunhofnartangi, which is less than 2 miles south of the Arctic Circle.

By the town’s harbour and on the small peninsula, where the lighthouse stands, are 3 arches. The third arch is located only about 100 feet from the parking area for the lighthouse.

It has a span of about 20 ft.
