Lake Myvatn lies in north central Iceland and is the fourth largest lake in the country. On the east shore of the lake is the small settlement of Kalfastrond. On the road to it there is a short trail to Klasar. The trail runs alongside a small arm of the lake and passes some interesting rock formations including these two small but very photogenic arches. Photographs of them appear in local guide books and on postcards.

They probably have spans of about 4 ft and heights of about 5 ft.
