Kingsgate Sea Arch

Kingsgate Sea Arch

NABSQNO 30V 570179 6365085

Kent. The arch is located at, and named after, Kingsgate Bay one of the seven bays of Broadstairs. Broadstairs is situated between the seaside towns of Margate and Ramsgate on Kent's east coast. The area is dominated by brilliant white chalk cliffs. The bay is a short distance from Broadstairs's most northerly bay - Botany Bay, named after the infamous Australian colony. During the 18th and 19th century smuggling was rife and the fate of those caught was transportation to Australia.

The arch has a span of 12 ft and a height of 28 ft.
