Coral Arch

NABSQNO 19K 643536 - 7761064

This arch is featured on many postcards and brochures of the area. It is located on the small island called Isla Incahuasi (Fish Island) situated in the middle of the Uyuni Salt Lake. The island and the salt lake are major tourist attractions. The island is covered in giant cacti probably a close relative of the Saguaro but growing at 12000 ft they are the highest cacti in the world. The arch, which is located near to the summit and is reached by a marked trail, has span of 10 ft and a height of 10 ft. There are numerous openings beneath the arch. The arch is eroded through coral hence the name.
