Surprise Arch

Ranks 20. Fiery Furnace Area. One of the highlights of the ranger led tours of the Fiery Furnace this arch was so named by a party led Bates Wilson in 1965 who were surprised to see it when they were trying to find a way to build a loop trail through the area.

It has a span of 63 ft and a height of 53 ft.
