One of the world's largest national parks Tassili-n-Ajjer is located on a high plateau in southeastern Algeria near to the desert town of Djanet. The park covers an area about twice the size of Switzerland. Most visitors to the park go for the magnificent rock art but there are also hundreds of natural arches. To reach the park it requires a strenuous climb on to the Tassili Plateau and then long walks to the various areas.

This is one of the great arches in the Tin Itinen
area. Takouba means sword in the Tamahaq dialect. It has a span of 33 feet and a height of about 66 feet.
