Constantine. Although this magnificent natural bridge can be viewed from the suspension bridge of Sidi M'Cid, some 500ft above the gorge, it is best seen from the Rhumel River. The river has cut a large gorge that splits the City of Constantine in two. The natural tunnel formed by the river created two more natural bridges in the inner gorge. After flowing through the bridge the river cascades down and through the Pont des Chutes (Waterfall Bridge). Park here and walk back along the river to a great view of the bridge. A small rough tunnel takes you around the abutment and comes out between the first and second bridges.

In the past the river had been used as a sewer with all sorts of waste and rubbish being strewn alongside the river. I am pleased to say this is no longer the case and it is now all clean.

The bridge has a span of about 100ft and a height of about 135/150ft.
